Corporate Vice President of Enterprise Open Source
As Corporate Vice President of Enterprise Open Source, Wim will focus on deepening Microsoft’s engagement with the Open Source communities. Wim is responsible for Microsoft contributions and innovations to Open Source projects, in particular, to increase customer adoption of Open Source on both Windows and Linux in Azure and Azure Stack.

Prior to this role, Wim spent 21 years at Oracle where he held various positions across the support and engineering divisions. Most recently, Wim served as senior vice president of Linux and Virtualization engineering where he was responsible for Oracle Linux, Oracle VM x86 and SPARC, Oracle VM VirtualBox, Oracle Private Cloud Appliance, Corente and Oracle Secure Global Desktop engineering, support, product and partner management.

Wim was on the board of The Linux Foundation from 2007 until 2016. Wim lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, visits the Redmond campus on a regular basis and enjoys playing table tennis and keeping up to date on new technologies, in particular Operating system and Virtualization related tech.
